I would like to thank to lady again I don’t remember her name, who showed me around and gave me so many detailed about the history of London. Despite the fact that I was the only person waiting for the tour. It was good to hear how young boys became knights and other parts of History. Thank you again. I was enriched by a large number of wise pieces of information. One of the main things I loved about the museum is that it is free to the public. The second thing I loved was how organized the museum was as it walked us through the history of London from the beginning to now. My husband and I stopped our visit around the time of the great fire of London of 1666. There was still a lot more to see, but he did not feel well enough to continue.

Visited principally for the Beasts of London exhibition, which we thought was quite simple yet clever, thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms are all quite different and together tell quite a story.My husband enjoyed it sufficiently that he wanted to go round a second time ( I suspect once would be sufficient for most people!).

We then stayed in the basement -L2 - and saw what we thought was all of that floor - Victorians to current day -although looking since at the floor map, we clearly missed bits. Just so much to see. The 2012 Olympic Games Cauldron area was fascinating.

In all, we were there for 4 hours and yet there is still so much we haven't seen. Hopefully will make a return visit.

I agree that the lighting could have been better in places. Photography is allowed but not flash -outcome being some rather poor photos. But that, and having to use my reading glasses in places, is a minor complaint.
